What makes you eager to start a new semester or new year? Since I teach three grades, I always get to meet new students with my sophomores and reconnect with my juniors and seniors. Plus, I usually think of at least one new thing over the summer to implement into my lessons and I always look forward to using the idea.

What new hobby or activity have you tried lately? During the pandemic, I taught myself how to play the dulcimer.

Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself as a first-year teacher? Make sure you go to bed at a decent time, even if you don’t have all your lessons exactly like you want them. Make sure you keep Saturday as your day.
