Congratulations to Emily Steelman from Eminence High School for winning October’s $100 Classroom Grant (formerly called mini-grant) from the Missouri State Teachers Foundation!

would use the $100.00 mini-grant towards purchasing a Digital Camcorder with Tripod to use for Performing Arts courses such as Drama, Band, and Choir,” she wrote in her application. “The recording equipment would be used to video rehearsals and performances. A quality camcorder with tripod would allow for students to view their rehearsals and performances in order to do self-critiques and performance evaluations to improve their future performances. Viewing their performances would also help promote pride in students’ performances. This recording equipment would also be available to students participating in Speech classes to record their speeches to analyze quality and time length. While a cell phone or ipad could be used to record, a camcorder would provide better quality picture and sound and the use of a tripod would help produce a more stable picture.”

Congratulations again, Emily!

You can apply for next month’s Missouri State Teachers Foundation mini-grant! Good luck!
