Congratulations to Terri Price (Fort Osage) and Vivian Hays (Joplin R-VIII) for winning $100 classroom grants from the Missouri State Teachers Foundation.

Terri Price: “I have two classes of self-contained freshmen and sophomores in ELA I and ELA II. Every year, I hear that they don’t like to read. I would like to build a library of high-interest low-level books that can help capture their attention and hold their interest.I believe that the more you read, the easier it gets..and school isn’t as hard. I would like to be able to put books in their hands that they don’t want to put down. I want to plant a seed of loving to read in each student.”

Vivian Hays: “I would like to provide a little more hands on Science. Where the students make the experiments their self, each student will be able to make their own and would not have to share. The students like science they just get upset when we don’t have enough stuff for each of them.”

You can apply for next month’s Missouri State Teachers Foundation mini-grant! Good luck!
