The Southeast Region Teachers Association (SERTA) will award a minimum of two non- renewable $500 scholarships to current year graduates of public high schools within the Southeast Region. The applicants must be a member of FTA if a chapter exists in the school of attendance. Candidates must present evidence of good character, good scholarship, and aptitude for college. The recipients of the scholarships must enroll as full-time students at a Missouri college or university. Upon proof of enrollment, a check for $500 will be issued to the registrar of the college. Full and explicit answers to all questions on the application are necessary. There will be no interviews of the student applicants selected. Each CTA may submit only two student applications, which must be signed by the CTA President. All applications are due by midnight on April 1 for consideration by the SERTA Board. The selected scholarship winners will be asked to attend the SERTA Spring Banquet.
