Success Guide for Teachers

Whether you’re stepping into your own classroom for the first time, or you’re a seasoned veteran, there are still lots of things to keep track of when it comes to teaching. This guide is a compilation of relevant information for teachers at any stage of their careers. Keep this guide handy as a reference for information on certification, mentoring and assessment. You’ll also find information on professionalism, parent-teacher relations, classroom management and other topics that might need a few reminders. For many of you, this information will be a review, but it’s always good to have a refresher. Information geared toward new teachers, such as working with a mentor, will be toward the front. If you’re nearing retirement, there will be more information toward the back for you. In between, there’s plenty of information that applies to everyone. School Laws Guide

MSTA has helped teachers with legal questions and concerns for more than 160 years. To help answer some of the most common legal questions, MSTA’s full-time Legal Services Department has put together a School Laws Guide. This guide includes practical tips for protecting yourself, common Teacher Tenure Act questions and details on working condition.
