MSTA held a contest in April and asked for nominations of teachers doing great things in their community. We had over 400 responses! During Teacher Appreciation Week, we are sharing the nominations from the winners.

One of our winners was Carla Kroll.  This is what Taylor Mislevich wrote about Carla:

The Eldon Upper Elementary experienced a tragic loss of our dear friend and coworker this year. Carla Kroll has been the rock for the sixth grade during this time. She knew Jerry for ten years, and is experiencing her own heartache. However, Carla has been a wonderful support for the family, sixth grade teachers, and sixth grade students. She has kept our hall sane and cared for everyone’s needs during this difficult time. I have found strength coming to school through her leadership and compassion.

The Missouri State Teachers Association is grateful to work with more than 47,000 compassionate leaders of education like Carla.

MSTA would like to thank our amazing sponsors Culver-Stockton College and Western Governors University who helped make this year’s Thank-a-Teacher contest possible.
