MSTA holds 2017 Assembly of Delegates

The Missouri State Teachers Association held its annual Assembly of Delegates on Thurs., Nov. 9, in Columbia, Mo., with 714 members from across the state meeting to vote on association business.

Nic Vasquez (Excelsior Springs) was elected President-Elect, and Nickie Jones (Camdenton) was elected Vice President.

Delegates passed updates to the association bylaws, and passed its legislative resolutions. These resolutions are used to determine MSTA’s position on education issues and set the association’s legislative priorities.

On Wednesday, MSTA hosted its annual Fun Night silent auction fundraiser for IMPACT, raising more than $5,000 for the political action committee. IMPACT funds are used to support education-friendly candidates.
