Many, if not most, of you are finished with the 2006-2007 school year. Here is some miscellaneous advice.

The MSTA headquarters are staffed all summer. Field offices will be closing on Friday, June 8, although we will have one field representative working to handle your calls. All other MSTA services will be available. If you have a question or matter arise, please call us at (800) 392-0532.

If your school district wants to pay you to do an in-service or professional development training during the summer, you usually must participate.

If you attend any field events with students, remember to follow all board policies concerning field trips and proper staff conduct.

The MSTA web site will continue to be updated weekly with news and information, although this is the final legal brief until the fall session begins.

Once a week, MSTA’s legal team will post a new pointer to help you be proactive in preventing and addressing matters that sometimes lead to legal concerns. Of course, we will continue to provide our legal services to members who contact us through the regular channels.
