Teachers who have found themselves out of work for the 2012-13 school year have the option of help from MSTA.
The Transitional Membership program will return this year. Transitional membership offers a one-time free membership for educators who are out of work, or recent graduates who have been unable to find a teaching job. MSTA introduced the transitional membership last year after so many qualified professional educators lost their positions due to budget cuts. In addition, many new graduates have been unable to find their first teaching position.
Transitional members will have access to full benefits of MSTA membership, including professional-learning opportunities, liability insurance that applies to substitute teaching, publications, access to our legal team, and more.
