Liability Insurance
With payment of your dues, you are covered under a $2 million professional liability insurance policy as a member benefit. Coverage under the policy includes:
Identity Theft Coverage
MSTA now offers identity theft coverage from AIG as a benefit for members. This comprehensive policy will help with identity restoration services, income protection and other services in the event that your personal information falls into the wrong hands.
Coverage for defense of civil claims and liability
Up to $2 million to defend you against civil claims and pay liability assessed
against you arising out of activities conducted in your professional capacity,
including claims of negligence or civil-rights violations.
Bail bond coverage
Up to $5,000 bail bond premium if you are arrested on charges arising out of
activities in your professional capacity
Personal property damage coverage
Up to $2,500 for damage or destruction to your personal property caused by an
assault upon you arising out of your authorized course of activities in your
professional capacity.
Criminal acts reimbursement coverage
Up to $35,000 reimbursement for attorney fees and costs incurred in a criminal
proceeding against you arising out of activities in your professional capacity,
including corporal punishment and sexual misconduct, if you are found not
guilty or if all charges are dismissed.
