2017 MSTA Convention Proposal Submissions

The 2017 MSTA convention will be November 9 – 10 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia, MO.  Presenters will receive an honorarium of $100 per session, unless they require MSTA to provide a projector.  If MSTA provides a projector, the honorarium is $50.  Mileage is reimbursed and lodging provided if needed.  Breakout sessions are one hour in length.  Tentative breakout times are:  Nov. 9 from 3:30 – 4:30; Nov. 10 from 7:30 – 8:30 and 9:00 – 10:00 am.

Proposals are suggested but not limited to the following topics:

Deadline for proposal submissions is July 1.  Presenters will be notified by August 1 if they have been chosen to present.  Submit a separate form for each presentation topic.

Presentation description

Please use these questions to guide your presentation’s description.

  • What is the focus of your session? Specifically, what topics, concepts, methods, issues or problems will be covered?
  • What will participants be doing in your session?
  • Are there any relevant aspects to the presenter’s background that gives credibility to this topic?
  • How does the session fit into today’s classrooms or schools?

MSTA will provide a screen and cart with hookups for a laptop or tablet. Projectors are provided at a reduced honorarium fee. Laptops and tablets are NOT provided. The presenter is responsible for any additional equipment needed. Once a presenter is contracted, MSTA will provide hotel or audiovisual company contact for that specific event.

MSTA will provide Internet access in meeting rooms.

Statement of Intent

If this proposal is accepted, I/my co-presenters and I agree to pay any fees for additional AV equipment not already specified to be provided by MSTA.

I also understand that sessions may be recorded for future learning opportunities.
